I took a visit to an Optus store yesterday and stumbled on the Optimus L5 on-sale. I wasn’t aware that it had begun selling in Australian stores but it appears that this has been the case for a couple weeks.

If you’re looking for a budget phone that gets the job done, has some decent specs and goes for a cheap price – then this is definitely worth looking at. As a part of the LG L Style Series, it sure is a nice and stylish device. It’s got nice sleek square design with a silver-lined finish. As you can probably tell, I’m a big fan of the Optimus L Style Series with their cheap cost, physical appearance and okay …

LG Optimus L Series all receiving QuickMemo by September

LG has just sent out a press release that all of their new Optimus L Style Series phones will be updated with a software upgrade which will include QuickMemo. QuickMemo is LG’s application to allow you to quickly jot down some notes on any screenshot taken on the phone with is. It’s much like what we’ve seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note, but it appears to have a few goodies of its own.

But what is QuickMemo?

Simply put, QuickMemo is basically an extension to screenshots. It allows you to take down screenshots and annotate them accordingly. LG has stated in their press release:

LG L Series, Optimus L2, L3, L5, L7 officially coming to Australia

LG Australia has today officially announced the launch of the LG L Series – L2, L3, L5 and L7 handsets down under. That includes the LG Optimus L7, Optimus L5, Optimus L3 and Optimus L2-Dual SIM.

Strangely, LG have completely disregarded all previous smartphones released and claimed that the L-Style series is their first. Is this an attempt to avoid the previous misfortune of LG’s smartphone offerings?
