Motorola Moto X shows up on JB Hi-Fi website for $499

The Motorola Moto X has seen a quiet release here in Australia last month and in the time since, most have been left in the dark as far as availability. The device is even listed as ‘Available Now’ on Motorola Australia’s website, but shares no information on where and who from. Thanks to the keen eyes out there however, the Moto X has been spotted live on JB Hi-Fi’s website, fetching a cool $499.

Available in only its standard black or white colour options, the Moto X arrives eight months following its announcement in the States and is marked as a Telstra compatible 4G  handset, which doesn’t surprise us, given Telstra’s relationship with Motorola over the years and who still ...

The Nexus 10 has finally launched for local retail in Australia at JB Hi-Fi

Remember the Nexus 10, Google’s first foray into the 10-inch tablet sector? The device was first available in November 2012, along with the Nexus 4. However, unlike with other countries, it never journeyed far past Google’s online-only Play Store. The Nexus 10 has been available at other online retailers, but until now has yet to be found in brick & mortar stores down under. However, it would seem that times have changed – the Nexus 10 has been spotted popping up in a few JB Hi Fi’s around Australia.

The N10 has an ultra high resolution screen that brings a 300ppi display to the 10 incher. It is also powered by Samsung’s dual-core Exynos 5 chip and has a nice ...

JB Hi-Fi selling the reasonably spec’d ZTE Telstra Urbane for just $149

Update: I called up JB Hi-Fi to get the low-down on the processor in the Urbane. It turns out that they were hiding it for a reason. The Urbane runs on a 600 MHz single-core Snapdragon processor. No, it’s not the beast I was hoping for and no it’s not the 1GHz single-core that would get the job done. This processor is a bit on the slow side, but we wont know for sure until we get ourselves a hands-on.

ZTE have updated their page to say that this has a 1GHz processor. We’ll have to go by their and JB Hi-Fi’s word that the device does in fact have a 1GHz processor.

A big thanks to Alex D. for ...
