MWC: Samsung’s iPod Killer

Samsung has proved itself to be one of the major contributors to Barcelona’s MWC and the South Korean company shows no signs of slowing down. Obviously Samsung has quite an established name as a phone manufacturer but it has also dominated specific niche markets with innovative products such as the Zipel oven.

Samsung’s latest release is a direct competitor for Apple’s iPod touch, and what a fantastic competitor it is. The Samsung Galaxy S Wifi will have the following packed under the hood:

·   1 GHz processor

·   4.2 inch WVGA (480 * 800) display

·   2 MP rear camera and a VGA front facing camera

·   will read the following audio files: MP3, AAC, AC-3, AMR, FLAC, WMA,

It’s Back: The Walkman!

September 5th 2007, Steve Jobs announces the first in portable touch screen music devices. Then the release of the iPhone, and it seems many people have forgotten that the iPod touch even exists.Sony sure hasn’t! It’s taken a long time, however Sony announced today along with a line of new mobile devices, that they will release an Android powered Walkman. For those of you born post 1996… the Walkman was a music player, it originated as a cassette player back in the late 80’s, and developed into an MP3 Player (USB connected memory device), before being superseded by the iPod.

Now a long time after the death of the device, Sony has brought it back, this time as an Android
