+ Fantastic visuals and sound
+ Gameplay never feels the same with each level run

THE CONS

Launcher Roundup

Stock Launcher

When Josh asked me if I was interested in writing for Android Australia I was immediately keen. I’ve been an Android fanatic for a while now and am known among many of my friends as a go-to-guy for phone/tablet advice, as long as you don’t want to buy Apple that is. The problem then was to figure out what to write first, I wanted it to be more than just a standard news piece, it’s my opening impression on this site after-all.

Therefore I would like to introduce you to my Android launcher round-up (you may all cheer now)!! For many Android users, the launcher is among the first apps to go on a new phone, but for many others …

App Review: Battery Widget? Reborn!

Battery WIdget? Reborn!

Usually, anything extra in my notification bar is simply frustrating – but developer Tomas Hubalek has got it right. Simple, fashionable and sleek; this battery widget truly compliments the look of your phone or tablet.

‘Battery Widget? Reborn!’ is a fantastic little addition to your phone or tablet, that you will be thankful for once downloading.

Simply, it will keep notice of your remaining battery life by percentage in your notification bar, and upon dragging this bar down, it will show you how much time you have left until your phone is dead, and what the current internal temperature of your phone is.

App Review: Dolphin Browser HD – Browsing with comfort

After many agonising months, I have made my decision about which web browser is best for me. Sure, the stock Android web browser is okay. In fact, I used it for several months. Then I thought, would a different browser make my time with my Android device more enjoyable? And here I am. Several trials later, I can confidently say that Dolphin Browser HD is the best browser I have seen on a phone to date. It allows me to do all the things I do on my laptop, on my phone.

What do I absolutely love about Dolphin Browser HD?

Firstly, the tabbed browsing.
I am obsessed with tabbed browsing. This browser allows you to open tabs easily …

App Review: Where’s My Droid

More than once a day I find myself looking around my room in search of my most prized possession. Every time I misplace my brand new Galaxy Nexus, the entire house becomes a war zone. Every pillow is overturned and every piece of furniture is moved, and at the end of every day hours are spent restoring the house to its original state. Many would suggest that I simply call my phone and follow the tune of my catchy ring tone however after a long day at uni or work I often forget to turn the silent option off. The solution lies in a simple to use and free application that can be found on the Android Market called Where’s …

Seesmic Ping – A New App to Time Your Status Updates

A new (and very handy) app has hit the market today from one of our favourite developers – Seesmic. You may know Seesmic as the popular group of developers who created Seesmic(Facebook, Twitter), the widely used (1-5 million downloads!) social networking app.

App Review: Steam Mobile

Valve’s new Steam Mobile App, available for both iOS and Android, dropped its beta tag on the 1st of February. After only 6 days of closed beta it’s now officially open to all registered Steam accounts. Last week we covered speculations as to where the product may take Valve, Steam and the Gaming Community as a whole, concluding that more of an emphasis would be put on the social aspect of gaming. The app seems to fulfill its expectations! The common view of the app is that it’s superfluous, at least in its current state. At AA we consider it differently, cherishing the absence of gaming, giving greater meaning to a sense of community. Because when it comes down to …
