As we all know, the Galaxy S III is being launched in Sydney today. We’re watching the live stream and scouring around for any information we can get out hands on. This page will be continuously updated as the info flys in! So sit back, and enjoy!

Samsung is mainly going through the major features of the SGS3, which we heard back on May 3rd and the specialised softwarethat makes this phone ‘designed for humans.’ The real question we’re waiting to be answered is, will S Voice recognise an Australian accent? The answer, yes! The demonstrator, Tyler McGee, has just shown that the SGS3 can play Coldplay upon his vocal demand (yes, …

Image: Vodafone stores receiving the Galaxy S III?

A Vodafone store manager has done the naughty (or nice by us) and taken a quick snap of unlabeled boxes arriving in his/her store. In big bold letters placed on the front of the box is ‘DO NOT OPEN,‘ suggesting that whatever is inside is a big secret. Do I smell Samsung Galaxy S III?

Besides for with the iPhone, telcos have never before taken this kind of action with a device. As we know, Samsung is going for an iPhone-esque launch of the Galaxy S III, which would further suggest that their latest and greatest is in the boxes. To top it all off, Samsung are holding a special event tomorrow to announce the Galaxy S …

Vodafone launching Galaxy S III tomorrow for $59/month?

Just one day before Samsung’s announcement tomorrow, a Gizmodo tipster has sent in the below image of the Galaxy S III with Voda. This comes just one day after Galaxy S III banners have been spotted around Sydney and Vodafone announced that they would be streaming Samsung’s event live. The superphone will be on sale for $5 instalments on the $59 per month contract for 24 months. That comes to a grand total of $1536 over two years for both the phone and the plan.

Vodafone stores have apparently been receiving sealed boxes for a product launch tomorrow. What’s in these boxes? Who knows. But we can make a very educated guess that Samsung is behind the boxes and will …

RedBull Mobile adds Samsung Galaxy S II to its stocks

RedBull Mobile has yesterday added the Galaxy S II to its short list of phones. While the SGS2 first came out over a year ago, it is the highest-end phone that RBM stocks. They currently only have two other phones, being the HTC Explorer and the HTC Salsa. Both are low to mid-range Androids, making the Galaxy S II the big fish in a small pond.

What’s the offers?

RedBull Mobile have brought out some enticing/interesting offers for the Galaxy S II. You wont be able to buy the device outright and you wont be able to pay via monthly instalments. However, RBM have coined some interesting plans.

$619 Plan:

Includes RedBull Mobile’s ‘Access 180′ plan, which includes 180 days …

Vodafone to stream the Australian Galaxy S III launch live

The reportedly most unreliable provider down under, with the worst coverage is in fact covering the Samsung Galaxy S III Australian launch event. That’s right, Vodafone will be live-streaming the Sydney event for all of you that are unable to make it up there.

Samsung has reportedly also been slowly placing SGS3 posters around Sydney in preparation for the Australian launch. Our Sydneyside blogger, Greg Jacobson, has seen nothing but white SGS3s up, suggesting that the Pebble Blue model could in fact be delayed (we’ll have photos up shortly).

Come Thursday morning at 9:50am, head over to the Vodafone Blog and feast yourself to some juicy information. For those of you who’d rather read what’s happened, we’ll be covering all …

Telstra officially launches the HTC One XL

Ladies and Gentlemen, the wait is over! Just as we expected, Telstra has today launched the HTC One XL and answered our questions about the “One thing we have been asking for” – hoorah!

The One XL is the 4G LTE enabled version of the incredibly popular HTC One X. The only other difference is that the XL is featuring a 1.5GHz dual-core S4 processor, rather than the quad-core Tegra 3. Even though it may only have half the cores, the S4 is an incredibly powerful processor capable of handling pretty much anything that is thrown at it – including 4G LTE.

The One XL is being offered for $0 upfront on Telstra’s $79 per month Freedom Connect plan …

Video: Telstra HTC One XL, details to be revealed tomorrow

That’s right, Telstra is set to be announcing details on the “One thing [we've] all been asking about” tomorrow. Telstra has informed everyone via the good-old Facebook that the wait is over:

This is truly exciting as this is One phone that I know many of our readers have been impatiently waiting for. Since the One X was launched almost two months ago, it has been a long and tiring wait for Telstra to officially announce the One XL – and they’re right, we have all been asking!

Ausdroid were lucky enough to catch Telstra’s official launch video after it was accidentally leaked. Telstra seem to have a focus on the software found on the phone, being Android 4.0 ICS …

Samsung Galaxy S III ‘Pebble Blue’ version delayed?

Rumours have been circulating over the last few days that the Samsung Galaxy S III‘s Pebble Blue version could in fact be delayed. This is supposedly due to an issue with the back casing of the blue SGS3 suffering from manufacturing problems. As such, according to the XDA developer forums, Samsung has been forced to trash up to 600,000 faulty back cases and reinvent their manufacturing process.

Comments on Reddit have also somewhat confirmed the rumour, suggesting that multiple pre-order sites have confirmed that the Pebble Blue SGS3 will be experience delays. We can only hope that Sammy can still fill out the huge pre-order list, which was topping 9 million 10 days ago!

So, a delay? What …

Videos: Motorola shows off Android 4.0 and Webtop 3.0

Earlier today we reported on a video of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia S. Now, Motorola has joined the party and released official videos of what to expect on their ICS-running and Webtop 3.0 capable devices. Moto is yet to roll-out any Android 4.0 ICS phones or updates to their phones, however, they have been able to get these videos out to those who are impatiently waiting.

It’s nice to see the Motorola are keeping to a more vanilla version of Ice Cream Sandwich and are abstaining from heavily ‘skinning’ the OS. This is very welcome as ICS is truly the best Android OS to date and OEMs should not be putting much of an overlay over it. …

Video: Sony Xperia S detailed running Ice Cream Sandwich

Well, it looks like the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Sony Xperia S is right around the corner. A video has surfaced recently, detailing the new features and UI look to be found on the Xperia S. While we are unable to understand the new features (the video is in a foreign language), the new look UI and visual aspects look great.

As mentioned in our full review of the Xperia S, the device anyway had various ICS-like features baked into it by Sony. As such, the update doesn’t appear to change all-too-much. What’s interesting is that the device appears to be using the stock Sony keyboard and not the Android 4.0 keyboard that has received …

Samsung Galaxy Pocket: Smallest Smartphone?

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket seems to be a step forward for budget smartphones. The difference between the Pocket and other budget smartphones is no doubt its size, but it’s a significant difference. Other budget smartphones (like the HTC Golf and Motorola Defy Mini) aren’t exactly chunky, but they aren’t exactly ‘pocket’-sized either. This is where the Galaxy Pocket comes in, an astoundingly small 2.8′ screen with a total length of 103.7mm

That’s pretty small, especially for a smartphone. It used to be that having a smaller phone was better, before the introduction of the smart-phone. Now it’s usually such that a bigger phone is better – but may we be seeing the re-emergence of small phones? Samsung seems to …

HTC Ice Cream Sandwich update schedule released

We all always want to know when Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is coming to our phones. HTC has been nice enough to release a full list of the target dates for all their phones expecting ICS. HTC has included that due to certain local carrier testing, the ETA for network-specific devices may be up to 45 days later than the below dates.

How About Sense?

Updated devices will see Sense 3.6, which is a ‘lite’ version of the newer Sense 4.0. HTC explains this through stating the 4.0 requires specific hardware, which only newer phones have.

Why Isn’t my HTC Here?

HTC has let everyone know that in general, any device with 512MB ROM or less will not be …
