MORE FROM LG
The flagship of LG’s 3D offerings, the Optimus 3D (Thrill 4G in the US) serves as an effective proof of concept and market test for the future of 3D. Some of the device’s specs may seem unimpressive at first, but it does well by using LG’s new Tri-Dual technologies: dual-channel and dual-core processor and dual-channel memory. The phone features a specialised UI that nicely highlights the 3D graphics, and the dual-cameras take some pretty cool stereoscopic 3D images. For those who don’t enjoy 3D, it can be turned down or off, but unless you plan on actively using the 3D feature, it’s not worth the extra bulk that this handset brings with it. One significant disadvantage the Optimus 3D faces is the fact that it ships with FroYo, but in its defence, it does not aspire to the heights of the Samsung Galaxy S II or the iPhone 4S – it just does what it does, and does it well.
The LG Optimus 3D is exclusive to Optus.
