We’ve heard that Samsung Experience Stores will have the Galaxy S4 from tomorrow onwards, and major carriers will have it from April 27th.

If you don’t want to head over to a SES and want to grab it from your local carrier, than preorders are opening up from tomorrow at 9am. Optus and Vodafone have both made this official, and we’re still waiting to hear from Telstra and Virgin Mobile.

Great news for all you readers out there who have been wondering when HTC’s new flagship One will be ending up on the shelves at your local carrier store.

It’s been confirmed by HTC’s Facebook page that the unibody aluminium wonder we had a hands-on with a little while back will in fact be available from  April 23rd, following concerns of delays with components from HTC’s suppliers.

The One will be available for pre-order tomorrow (April 5th), thankfully on all three major carriers (as well as Virgin Mobile), unlike in the U.S. where customers on Verizon, the country’s largest carrier are stuck with HTC’s alternate offering – the Droid DNA.

Telstra, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile have announced that they will be carrying the just-launched Samsung Galaxy S4 on their respective networks. All listed carriers will have more details in the coming weeks closer to launch concerning pre-orders and pricing. We’re yet to receive an official response from Optus, but given that Virgin Mobile has announced it is carrying Samsung’s latest flagship, it’s all but guaranteed that Optus will as well.

Were you excited by the announcement of the HTC One?  Maybe Norman’s quick look photo comparison was enough to sway you towards a high end Android phone sporting an Ultrapixel camera?

Well rest assured the HTC One is coming to Australia.  After the announcement by HTC, Telstra has since posted confirmation that it will be offering the HTC One as part of its 4G network, and you can register your interest here.  What’s more, Vodafone has also confirmed that they have begun testing of the HTC One and will eventually make its way to their 4G network.

It appears that Vodafail – Vodafone – sorry, I couldn’t help it – has been under scrutiny from the public (and the ombudsman) for a long time now. They’ve been unfortunate enough to have many upon many customer complaints, have had to give out many free phones in compensation and cancelled many subscriptions. But, that’s not the worst of it – Vodafone has faced horrible publicity, lost many customers and tarnished their good global name.

Was it their fault? Perhaps – but only to the extent that Voda didn’t plan correctly for the onslaught of data usage we’ve seen in the last couple of years. Are they bad people who sit there stealing our money and laughing their heads …

With Telstra and Optus having already launched their ultra-fast 4G networks around Australia Vodafone, the last of the major telco’s, is playing catchup. Vodafone customers do not fear though because hopefully within the next year the telco’s 4G network will hopefully be up and running. Early tests for Vodafone are promising with download speeds peaking at 67mbps and uploads around 30mbps.

However, these are early tests and must be taken with a pinch of salt. These tests were also only conducted in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and there is obviously no network congestion.

If you’re looking for a lower end (and lower priced) 4G LTE capable (when it is available with Vodafone) device, then the One SV may be the one for you. It features lower specs than you’re usual high-end and LTE capable Android and has a smaller 4.3″ 4.3″ 800×480 pixel SuperLCD 2 Gorilla Glass 2 display.

If you ask me, the asking price is just a little on the pricey side to make this phone a serious consideration. Stacked up against the Motorola RAZR M it has the same sized screen, a slightly better display and a similar processor, but doesn’t match up to the small form factor of the M.

Following the roll-out of the Vodafone Galaxy Nexus to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, Vodafone has announced another much anticipated update – the Android 4.1.2 premium suite for the Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S3.

Similar to the Galaxy Note 2 premium suite, the update brings a lot of Samsung specific features to the Samsung Galaxy S3 such as the multi-window feature for greater multi-tasking functionality.  There are many other features to list, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video explaining the features must be worth ten thousand.  Oh wait, there are two videos – so make that twenty thousand.

The Galaxy Nexus with Vodafone has surely taken its time to make the OS version jump from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean. If you’ve got a Galaxy Nexus from Vodafone then now is the time to get a little happier – you’ve got an OS upgrade awaiting you.

You know the drill – head over to the Settings -> About -> Software Update -> Check Now and see if it has rolled out to your phone yet. There’s no mention of a trickle system, so we can expect all eligible phones to have the update ready.

Everyone loves an update, especially when that update brings your phone of choice up to the deliciousness that is Android Jelly Bean.

Now all those people that are using an HTC One X with Vodafone may have some Jelly Bean of their own, as Vodafone has released the 4.1.1 update for the One X.

In its blog post “Software Update Weekly Wrap”, Vodafone announced that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Nexus has been approved and is awaiting roll out by Google.

This update from Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich brings you the buttery smoothness that comes with Project Butter as well as new features like Google Now and the ability to take actions directly from the notifications bar.

If so, you’ll be stuck on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, while much of Europe has been enjoying the buttery goodness of Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. I’ve been playing around with a 4G Galaxy S III that runs on Jelly Bean the last few days and the improvements in speed and features (like Google Now) make for a much more enjoyable experience.
