10.1″ Telstra 4G Tablet launching tomorrow for $480

Telstra 4G Tablet.

According to a press release we’ve just received, Telstra are launching their first self-branded 4G Android tablet, fittingly named the Telstra 4G Tablet. The spec list reads much like many other 10.1″ Android tablets in the market right now, with a 10.1″ 1280 x 800 HD display, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor (most likely Qualcomm, though specifics are unclear), the headlining 4G LTE support, 16GB of internal storage expandable by microSD to 32GB, a 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera, and a 6900 mAh battery in a 670 gram package.

Software wise, it’s a lightly customised affair, with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the base, and light software customisations on the lock screen and the home screen. The Telstra 4G Tablet also has access to the 600,000+ apps, games, and books from Google Play. We’re waiting on further details for a software upgrade to Jelly Bean further down the track. The Telstra 4G Tablet will be on sale tomorrow for $480 outright, or $49 over 24 months on the Telstra Data+ Tablet Plan with 4GB of data per month.

Telstra looks to have a neat little tablet on their hands, with one of the first 4G tablets compatible with Australian LTE frequencies. Does 4G speeds in an Android tablet entice you? Let us know in the comments!
