Sony has today released some details about their update schedule. Namely, which phones will be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and when a few of them will be.

The Xperia T, TX and V (which are yet to be released) will be updated to Jelly Bean from mid-Q1 in 2013.

Other models which have been out for quite a while, on the other hand, will be upgraded to Android 4.1, but the timing is not yet known. The models in question are the 2012 NXT Series, with the likes of the Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia P, Xperia go and Xperia J in question. There’s no word yet on the Xperia Sola, but the Sony rep has told that he will speak up about it soon.

The sad part, though? If you got a 2011 Sony Xperia device then it will not be updated past Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Although, that’s not all too bad – it could mean reason to update to some newer hardware!
