HTC One X, One S to receive Jelly Bean in October

Tucked away in the press release for the HTC One X+ (which was made official last night) is a sweet little bit of information. It appears as though HTC’s two flagship devices, the One X and One S, are set to be receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean “from October.”

This comes at a time that Samsung has been receiving much praise for unveiling the Jelly Bean running Galaxy S III 4G and the Galaxy Note II.  Here’s what HTC said in the press release:

The Android Jelly Bean with HTC™ Sense 4+ update is scheduled to begin rolling out for the HTC One™ S and HTC One™ X from October.

Presumably, this update is for the international variants of the phones, which many of us would be running. If you’ve got a carrier branded version then HTC does say that updates should take an extra 45-60 days.

Anyway, the update is just around the corner. Start singing your praises HTC fans!

I took the plan from Vodafone, does it mean I have to wait another 45-60 days?

Why you said “Presumably, this update is for the international variants of the phones, which many of us would be running.”?

If Vodafone gave you the phone the yes, most probably. :-(

I’m with Optus. So I think I’ll be lucky if it comes as a Christmas present. And given the 4.0.4 update they’ve stopped rolling out, then chances are when it does come, it will stop phone calls from working or something stupid like that!
