[Update] Google/ASUS Nexus 7 32GB all but confirmed

Nexus7

UPDATE: The 32GB Google Nexus 7 is a reality. The Verge reports the 32GB variant being bought at a local Staples, which verifies the information below. The storage is similar to those of the Japanese customer, and are probably not faked (unlike the Nexus X). There has been no official announcement by Google however.

While the Nexus 7 has been out for some time now, bringing Jelly Bean to the world, it was only available in 8GB and 16GB variants. According to Android Police , the rumoured 32GB variant has popped up on various sites such as Staples Advantage (as well as Carphone Warehouse and the Spanish variant) , selling for less than $250.

There was also an incident where a customer in Japan reported having received the 32GB variant by accident. He had ordered a 16GB and posted photos confirming the existence of the latter.

Looking back at the HP TouchPad ‘firesale’, the 32GB version was most sought after. Its nice to see Google finally respond to demand for a Nexus 7 with greater storage especially since it was the flagship device for Jelly Bean.

If you’re thinking of buying a tablet, expect the Google Nexus 7 32GB to come very soon.

i was going to say that i wouldnt bet on LTE but, there a rumors of a 3g version floating about so its not that far out an idea, although id say it wont be soon more like a few months after a 3g version should it exists

i applaud google for seeing the obvious demand for more storage and addressing it with a 32gb version, but dam i would be pissed if i had a 16gb version (even a 8gb) right now, seeing this announcement which for all intensive purposes is double the space for the almost no price increase :s ouch, then again tech moves fast and early adopters are always sufferers so ye lol

the price difference between the 8 and 16gb versions is insane! there would be little difference in manufacturing but there is a $50 price gap for 8gb. Since when does 8Gb cost $50?
    Food for thought

considering there is no SDcard slot, 8GB extra is worth the $50 :P

I’m one of them people Cam, haha. ahh well the price is ridiculously cheap and i use my phone for music mostly so i can live without much space on my N7 the price is good for the cheap as chips for what you get, love my nexus’s.

The old 8GB will move down to $150 or $100 and that might be that $100 tablet everyone is talking about O.o

Perhaps, or the 8GB will be taken off the shelves?
