PlayStation Mobile goes live today in Australia

Sony’s PlayStation Mobile suite has finally gone live! This system allows for gamers to purchase a game on their Android (through the PSM Suite) and not have to purchase it again for their PlayStation Vita – if you have one. It is a great way to unify the Sony PlayStation gaming system and give users a way to play games across different platforms.

When you purchase an app through the PlayStation Mobile store it will be tied to your PlayStation Network (PSN) ID and hence be available on all devices – win! The service has officially launched today in Australia, Japan, the United States, France, Germany,Canada, Italy, United Kingdom and Spain, with more countries coming. I can’t quite seem to get my hands on the app and start downloading, but the app must be propagating through the Play Store. I’ll update this post when I find out more.

If you’ve got a PlayStation Mobile certified device then it’s probably time to start hitting the store. Sony devices, Wikipad, HTC One Series and other Android devices are included, so don’t miss out on the fun.

People are reporting some issues with the stable-ness of the app, but we’d hope for it to be fixed shortly by Sony.
