Galaxy Note II 4G available for pre-order at Mobicity, probably at Optus “in November”

Optus Galaxy Note II

We just received a 3G unit of the Galaxy Note II and will have a review up shortly. However, it appears as though Samsung had a 4G unit of the Galaxy Note II (which works on Aussie networks) available and didn’t think to tell anyone. While this is great news, this is a great shock for those of you who purchased the 3G variant.

Anyway, MobiCity have the 4G LTE enabled variant (N7105) for pre-order on their online store for $829. While it’s a bit pricier than the 3G version (N7100), it is definitely worth the extra cash.

In other Note II news, I had a little chat with an Optus store rep today about the Note II’s availability. I overheard him telling a customer that the Note II should be coming “in November” and “before Christmas.” While he didn’t know too much in regards to the definite availability, he seemed quite certain that it would be coming to Optus for the Christmas run.

This matches very well with news that Optus are apparently testing the 4G variant of the Note II, meaning that we could see the 4G Galaxy Note II available at Optus stores before year’s end. Stay tuned.

I hope Samsung are getting the message loud and clear it is unacceptable to continue selling one model then just a short time later releasing the 4G variant – good article Josh!

This really is is annoying the hell out of me. It gets unveiled 2-3 weeks before the iphone and it’s still not here despite the iphone being release globally 3 weeks ago. I am holding out on an iphone 3gs which is driving me insane. Samsung you have released it elsewhere, can you please just announce expected release in Australia????
As for someone in the store having an insight, I’m afraid to say we would have more idea than them if we trawl the internet. I had a friend who was management at Telstra and he knew nothing, it’s only certain departments that would have an idea and nothing is really getting leaked

Yes, it’s not much of a guarantee but he seemed pretty certain that it was coming in that time period. It matches up with the rumour of Optus testing the device, which gives it just a smidgen of legitimacy. I know others are not happy with Samsung’s quiet nature on the matter, too. I guess we just have to wait and see what happens from here.
