More images of the rumoured LG Nexus pop up

nexusae0_optimus_nexus_1

We reported yesterday on a few images that leaked of the suspected LG Optimus Nexus in all of it’s shiny glory. We didn’t know all too much about the phone, but it appears as though some more information has today leaked on the matter.

We knew it was running Android 4.1.2, so we didn’t expect the OS to be too different from what Jelly Bean is. Based on the leaked images, we can say that this is true and the OS (if this is really the upcoming Nexus) looks to be quite similar to Jelly Bean.

In terms of hardware though, the tipster with the phone has released some info on an XDA thread – in his own words -

CPU: core quad ARMv7 1.5GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Memory: 8GB (and I haven’t found SD slot)
GPU: Adreno 320
Android version: JellyBeanMR1
Kernel 3.4.0
Screen: 768×1184 (320 dpi)
Camera: 8 MPx

These specifications line-up with previous reports, especially what Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo said to expect about a week ago. Get excited – or not – this thing looks a lot like the Galaxy Nexus. Remember, this is still just a rumour for the time being – don’t take it as fact until the final announcement is made.

If this is the next Nexus, why did Google decide to go with LG this time around, and not Samsung?

Fair go? They can’t be one sided with the OEM. It would be the third consecutive year in a row Samsung made it if this year was also one. But then again, there are reports of multiple Nexus devices meaning HTC, Samsung, Asus, Motorola, and LG might make one Nexus phone each with all the same specs (I am hoping for many Nexus with all same specs)
