Rumour: Samsung working on a 10.1″ Nexus Tablet with a 2650 x 1600 display
Yes, another rumour is circulating town and we need to take this with a grain of salt. However, it’s hard not to get excited when you see the name Nexus and a top-line OEM like Samsung involved – again. Android Police is reporting that CNET has gotten word of a new Nexus in the works, this time in the form of a 10-inch tablet.
But, this isn’t just any 10-inch tablet that we’re talking about. It appears as though Samsung and Google are working on an ultra-high-resolution (2560 x 1600) tablet with a 299 PPI (pixels per inch). This, ladies and gentlemen, beats the major competitor of the iPad which comes in at 264 PPI.
This is still nothing but a rumour at the moment, but it does fit in well with the multiple Nexus scheme. Perhaps the whole idea of the multiple Nexus devices is not for phones, but rather a few different form factors. We’ve got the ASUS Nexus 7, almost guaranteed LG Optimus Nexus and now this Samsung-built 10″ Nexus on the blocks – sounds like multiple Nexus devices to me?
All we need now is a 5-inch HTC-built Nexus (which we’ve heard of before) to pretty much cover all bases – could this be the reality? For now everything is still a rumour and we need to sit back and wait for the official announcement, but boy is speculation fun.
