[Update: for Android 4.0.3+] Official Google Calendar application now available for all on Google Play

unnamed (8)

Google’s Calendar application, which was previously only available on select Android devices (i.e. Nexus devices) is now available for all via Google Play. I’ve always been a fan of Google’s calendar application over OEMs’ take on the app, so it’s a really good booster for the Android OS.

If you haven’t already downloaded the app, then head over to Google Play to check it out and have a spin.

they also appear to have made some changes to the app itself dont really no what but my widget on my home screen just developed itself a transparent blue box containing the date, it was grey this morning :P

I’m loving that blue look. Makes my design have a whole new feel.

    Known issues with HTC devices:

    - Day and week views may not work on some HTC devices.
    - Notes and pictures may be removed from all calendar events, but will still be available in HTC’s Notes app.
    - Local unsynced events may be lost after installing Google Calendar.
    - Notifications won’t make sounds unless HTC’s Calendar app is disabled.
    - Touching an email invitation in a mail app opens Calendar in the browser rather than the app.

Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be installing this on my HTC One X any time soon. To be honest, I really really like the way HTC handles the calendar and agenda, so it will take a fair bit to encourage me to install it.

Yeah, stay with the stock. While the Agenda widget for HTC Sense devices looks nice and (theoretically) works well, I find it to have too many bugs to work well enough for me.
