Iconic Melbourne vegetarian fast food joint finally gets application

LordOfTheFries Android app ft img

To carry on from my three new apps that make me proud to be Australian, this new app still focuses on our love for food.

If you’re in Melbourne then you most probably know all about Lord of the Fries. For those of you who don’t know, Lord of the Fries (or LOTF) is a vegetarian/vegan fast food restaurant in Melbourne. After just having one store about 3 years ago, they’ve expanded to having 6 stores around Melbourne (four in the CBD).

Now, however, LOTF has a new member to welcome to the family – an Android application. The new application gives you the option to order food from any of their stores, pay via your mobile and pick it up. From the looks of it you need to pick it up when the app tells you it’ll be ready, with the inability to choose a time of your convenience.

There’s not much to the app. Upon start up you can either start ordering or check your history (in case you’ve been eating a bit too much I presume – it’s quite addictive). Upon starting to order you can choose your location of choice (with opening hours included). You then get taken to a very detailed menu, with the option to choose any special requests via a comment. Payment can be made via credit card or I believe it can be paid at the store.

The reviews on Google Play aren’t that great, but until today the app had not been officially launched. It was available on Google Play, but the services were not fully functional.

If you’re a Lord of the Fries regular and want to bring your Android into the action then head over to Google Play for download.
