Samsung outlines 15 devices to receive Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean
Samsung has today let everyone know of the list of international devices that will be receiving Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. In total there are 15 devices to be updated, which is quite a cumbersome list. Seeing as though Samsung has been able to start releasing 4G Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II models that are preloaded with Jelly Bean, we can hope to getting these updates sooner rather than later.
The update will bring enhancements to Sammy’s ‘Pop up play’ feature, a new ‘Easy Mode’ and a new ‘blocking mode.’ As we had expected, Samsung are making a few necessary changes to the software of the Galaxy S III to make it a viable competitor for the iPhone 5 (in the eyes of the common consumer).
Here they are:
Phones:
- Galaxy S II
- Galaxy S III
- Galaxy Note
- Galaxy S Advance
- Galaxy S II LTE
- Galaxy Chat
- Galaxy Ace 2
- Galaxy Beam
- Galaxy Ace Plus
- Galaxy Mini 2
- Galaxy S Duos
Tablets:
- Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
- Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
- Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
- Galaxy Note 10.1
If you’ve got one of these devices then you should be quite excited. Samsung has said that your device will, definitely, be updated to the latest and greatest of Android (for now). Well, that’s unless they decide to pull an HTC and remove a phone from the list (Desire HD, anyone?)
