Samsung has today let everyone know of the list of international devices that will be receiving Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. In total there are 15 devices to be updated, which is quite a cumbersome list. Seeing as though Samsung has been able to start releasing 4G Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II models that are preloaded with Jelly Bean, we can hope to getting these updates sooner rather than later.

The update will bring enhancements to Sammy’s ‘Pop up play’ feature, a new ‘Easy Mode’ and a new ‘blocking mode.’ As we had expected, Samsung are making a few necessary changes to the software of the Galaxy S III to make it a viable competitor for the iPhone 5 (in the eyes of the common consumer).

Here they are:

Phones:

Tablets:
If you’ve got one of these devices then you should be quite excited. Samsung has said that your device will, definitely, be updated to the latest and greatest of Android (for now). Well, that’s unless they decide to pull an HTC and remove a phone from the list (Desire HD, anyone?)

When will the update roll out in India?

What about the Galaxy Tab 7.7 it’s still stuck on honeycomb and no sight of an update. Really disappointed with Samsung.

I’m still a little pissed off at HTC for sidecasting the Desire HD for Ice Cream Sandwich.

My girlfriend has my old DHD and while she’s not terribly fussed about it, I am, and I even considered upgrading my phone so that she could have my Galaxy S2.

Oh well. I’m guessing we’re still without a release date?

No release date yet for any of these updates. I sent Samsung Australia an email today though.

No one was happy with HTC when they scrapped the update. I’m guessing that not even they were happy. Good luck for now HTC… You need a hell of a lot of marketing right now to compete with Samsung and Apple.

I’d be more after a European release date for this, as my handset is a grey import.

No release dates yet unfortunately. Although, don’t expect to see it before Samsung updates the Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 10.1 and maybe the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.

What about the 8.9 4g Tablet?
Still waiting for ICS from slack Samsung….

Very slack, doesn’t look like Jelly Bean is coming unfortunately.

    Hey Josh,

What about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

Hey Steve, where did you get your Galaxy Nexus from? If it’s an international variant (that is updated by Google) then you should have it available now. If it’s not currently available then you’ll unfortunately have to wait until it is your phone’s turn..
