HTC One X to receive Jelly Bean by October/Christmas, One X+ to launch in same time-frame?

Well this is some exciting news! It looks like HTC’s major flagship phone, the One X, is in line to be receiving some nice and buttery Jelly Bean goodness shortly. Paul O’Brien of MoDaCo has reported that they have heard a bit about HTC’s update plans. The international (unbranded) variant of the One X will supposedly be updated to Jelly Bean in October, with carrier branded versions to follow suit by Christmas – or at least that is the hope.

Unfortunately, there’s no news on the One S and it’s prospective update.

This is what the man Paul O’Brien himself had to say:

If you’re using a generic device you don’t have too long to wait… HTC will be starting the rollout in October for generic devices with rollout to all devices (including operator branded units) set for completion before Christmas (subject to operator / Google approvals etc. of course).

O’Brien also goes on to say that the rumoured upcoming HTC One X+ will be released before Christmas time too with Jelly Bean straight out of the box – now that’s something I’d love to see.

Telstra have previously said that the One XL is expected to receive Jelly Bean in the next couple of months, so it would be safe to assume that they will try to push the update out as close to the October time-frame as possible.

Start getting excited HTC One X users!
