We all knew this day would come. After the Galaxy S III hit 10 million pre-orders very shortly after it was announced, we knew that it would continue to sell incredibly quickly. Well, it turns out that the Galaxy S III has in fact been enjoying some really stellar sales figures. The SGS3 has hit 20 million sales and this number will surely continue to increase until the next Galaxy S variant is announced.

The Galaxy S III has sold three times as fast as the Galaxy S II and six times as fast as the Galaxy S – amazing improvements.

If you’d like a country by country summary then Samsung has us covered there too:

  • 6 million units in Europe
  • 4.5 million units in Asia
  • 4 million units in North America
  • 2.5 million units in Korea
  • 3 million units in other

I’m not sure where Australia fits into this, but we’d either be in the ‘other’ category or Asia. I’d say ‘other.’

Are you one of the 20 million?

I’m waiting for the next Nexus. Fast updates and pure Android.

Except that Galaxy SIII will get Jelly Bean OTA before the Galaxy Nexus…

We’ll see, we’ll see. I’ve got a Galaxy Nexus and running JB. ;-)

The S3 will get Jelly Bean before the Galaxy Nexus…but then there’s the telcos :-( I’m stuck on my Optus Nexus still waiting for Jelly Bean!

through carriers i have a feeling your right, of course the s3 wont beat true unlocked gnex’s but considering basically every carrier has already dumped the gnex and carrier tendancy to only update the current “it” model, theres a good chance the current star of the show s3 will get the update before the gnex

Anyone find the number of iPhone 4S sales figures for the same duration after launch, would be an interesting comparison.
All I can find is a wikipedia article:

“On October 17, 2011, Apple had announced that four million units of the iPhone 4S were sold in the first three days of release”

That would be really interesting actually. Let’s see if we can find some info on that.

amazing sales numbers to say the least and it should only rise when the boosted 4g version hits, ill be one of them if optus is kind to me lol

did anyone else see the conveniently timed quip from apple yesterday saying they are expecting 10million sales in the first week of the iphone5 based of basically no data and only a few hours after the samsung announced, nice try apple nice try
