4G Galaxy S III available on Optus on September 20th, Telstra in October
Well ladies and gentlemen, after the hype of the announcement of the 4G Galaxy S III this morning, things have settled down just a bit. However, we’re now looking a bit deeper into things and when we can expect to see the first 4G-toting SGS3s in the wild. Telstra has made the launch date quite clear in that it will be here some time in October. Optus, on the other hand, are getting the 4G Galaxy S III out a bit sooner.
Here’s what Telstra’s press release said:
Samsung GALAXY S III 4G is slated to arrive on the Telstra Mobile Network in October.
After looking, but not finding, Optus’ launch date in any press releases we went on to check out the site. As this is the first 4G enabled phone for the Big O, they must be quite excited about the launch. Optus is currently allowing people to pre-order the SGS3 4G. If you do so before September 17th, then you can expect to have one by September 20th – quite exciting really! Here’s what Optus state on their website:
Pre-order by 17th September 2012^^ and we will deliver your phone on approximately 20th September 2012 (subject to availability). Pre-order is exclusive to online customers only.
If you want to check out the available plans and other information, then head over to the Optus online store. Telstra don’t currently have any information online, so we’ll have to wait and see. Don’t worry – we’ll keep you updated! Oh yeah, and did we mention that this thing is also packing 2GB of RAM?
Are you going to be getting a 4G Galaxy S III?
