Kobo announces Kobo Arc 7″ to hit stores in November, starting from $249.99

Remember when we announced that Kobo was going to be bringing out their own line of Kindle Fire/Nexus 7 competitors. The specifications weren’t over the roof, but they did get the job done.

We’ve just received an email from Kobo letting us know that there is a new Arc in town. Kobo have announced that the Arc 7″ will be available in three different size variants. The 16GB will go for $249.99, the 32GB for $299.99 and the 64GB for $349.99.

Dimensions: 7.43in x 4.72in x 0.45in / 120mm x 11.5mm x 189mm.
Weight: 364 g.
Processor: Texas Instruments OMAP 4470, 1.5 GHZ (Dual Core).
Display: 7” HD Display; 1280 x 800 resolution; 215 ppi; 16.4 million colours.
RAM: 1 GB RAM.
Screen: IPS LCD – optimized for 178 degree viewing angles; ultra-durable
glass resistant to damage, scratches, bumps and drops.
Connectivity: Wi Fi 802.11 b/g/n , Micro USB and WiFi Direct.
Storage: 8GB / 16GB.
Camera: 720p HD 1.3 megapixel forward-facing camera.
Battery: Up to 10 hours of continuous reading/video with WiFi off;
2+ weeks on standby.
Sensors: Accelerometer, ambient light sensor.
Colours: Available in black or white. Two interchangeable backs are
available for purchase: Blue and Purple.

These prices are really quite competitive and a good point for Kobo to make some ground in the market.
