Aldi selling the $249 9.7″ BAUHN tablet again
Well, it looks like the BAUHN tablet is back! ALDI have updated their catalogue to include the $249 BAUHN tablet. While this tablet isn’t sporting the quad-core processor that you’ll see in the Nexus 7 or the Galaxy Note 10.1, it does have a fairly decent set of specs – especially for the price!
- 1.5GHz Amlogic Cortex A9 Dual Core Processor
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- IPS 9.7″ 4:3, LCD panel display (1024 x 768 resolution)
- 1GB RAM
- 16 GB internal memory (expandable with micro SD memory card)
- 0.3 front-facing, 2.0 megapixel rear-facing camera
- up to 6 hours battery life
- USB 2.0 Input and HDMI Output

If you’re looking for a tablet with a fairly large screen that has very decent specs and and a cheap price tag then this tablet is really for you. It also has the added accessibility of a USB 2.0 input and a HDMI output, making the Bauhn tablet quite a powerhouse for its price. Overall, it’s a toss-up between this and the Nexus 7 in my eyes. No, the BAUHN tablet doesn’t have a quad-core processor but it does have very decent/similar specifications otherwise. It has a bigger screen, added accessibility and is slightly on the cheaper side (by $50).
As a pioneer of 7-inch tablets, I’d probably choose the Nexus 7. However, the BAUHN tablet really does give it a run for it’s money.
The BAUHN tablet will go on sale this Saturday the 8th of September. You can head over to BAUHN’s official website to find out more.
Thanks: Alex!
