ASUS PadFone 2 announcement scheduled for October 16th

Well, that was just a little bit quick. ASUS only launched the original PadFone worldwide a few months ago and it never even made it to Australia – yet. Now, ASUS has sent out invitations which clearly point to an upcoming event about the successor to the original PadFone.

If you ask me, that’s just a bit early. If I had purchased a PadFone and then saw this event coming up I would not be very happy. And, there’s nothing worse then upsetting your customers.

Anyway, the event is real and it’s happening. We can expect ASUS to be releasing an updated version to the PadFone (obviously) that will bring it up to pace with the major competitors in the market. That would mean a quad-core chip, LTE connectivity, a high-resolution screen and perhaps a larger battery. Oh yeah, and some Jelly Bean too.
