Australian Acer Iconia A501 receiving Android 4.0 ICS

We received word this morning from a reader that the Acer Iconia A501 has begun receiving the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Acer is quite quiet, especially on the Australian front and it is good to see them update their flagship device.

After receiving word from one of our readers we backed it up with a recent Whirlpool forum. Most users of the Iconia A501 are receiving the update and it appears to have started rolling out over the last few days. It appears to be slightly stagnated so don’t go all too crazy if you don’t have the update notification yet.

    My unbranded A501 received the ICS update today… much happier with it now… faster and seems stable.
