Optus HTC Incredible S now receiving Ice Cream Sandwich

Optus Incredible S ICS

Got an HTC Incredible S from the Optus network? Yeah? Get happy.

The Incredible S from Optus is now lucky enough to be receiving the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The very yellow carrier has taken to Facebook to announce the update and what to expect.

The update is expected to roll-out over the coming weeks and be 300MB in size. As it’s quite a hefty update, we’d (and Optus) suggest to update your phone over WiFi and not a 3G connection.

If you just can’t wait and want to see if your phone is ready hit: Settings -> About -> Software Updates -> Check now!

As always, let us know if you get the update and how it goes in the comments below!

after 2 months waiting, last week I broke my patience and I rooted my Inc S with ICS 4.0.3 and Sense 4.0. (Nik Project X)

    Enjoying Beats Audio too….

Does ICS and Sense 4.0 cause the device to lag at all? Glad to hear you made the jump and took matters into your owns hands. ;)

        So far it’s doing great.
Lookout (paid version) and Battery Saver are keeping my mobile in very stable condition.

Dolphin browser install for only flash content websites.

Note : I got Dropbox 23GB bonus storage too.

    WAAAAAAAAAA!!! Damn HTC!!
    I am so over them!!!

Why can the Incredible S be getting ICS and my Desire HD (which is unlocked) not be!!! This is soo not fair.

Also it is a staggered update which must mean they have sold a heck of a lot of these phones or that the HTC servers need some serious replacement perhaps??

I’d guess they sold quite a few of these as there weren’t too many viable competitors at the time.

That’s a big shame. Are either of them loading?
