What’s coming for LG? A quad-core, 5″ high-res powerhouse device?
LG have been reasonably quiet on the Android smartphone scene for quite a while now. Yes, they’ve launched the L Style series, but LG seems to really be trying to find their groove right now. The Optimus 4X HD has been a bit of a hit around the globe, but it hasn’t been able to make it down to Australia, which is disappointing. It’s a fast, high-powered and beautiful phone that I know I would love to be using. Oh, and that custom UI is seriously to die for.
We’ve been hearing from LG for a while that besides for the L Style Series, they don’t have anything more in stock for Australia this year. So, if you’ve been hoping that the Optimus 4X HD is coming down under then you should set your eyes further and look into next year’s phones. That’s where we come in.
So, what’s LG’s next phone going to be?
Obviously, we don’t know exactly what LG will be bringing out next year, but we do know that they’ll be pushing for large screen smartphones.
Does that ring a bell? Yeah, LG’s 5″ retina-killer display that has been in development for quite some time seems a good fit. LG already have the Optimus Vu and its 5″ glory, but this display is of a different resolution. It’s the first full HD (1080p) resolution display for a mobile phone and it could very well be placed on their next phone.
LG have also reportedly been developing their own in-house quad-core processor. It’s called the L9 chipset, which would lead us to believe that it is based on the nearly outdated Cortex-A9 architecture. However, LG have licensed A15 architecture so we won’t know until this all plays out.
So, are we going to be seeing a 5″, ultra high-res display with a quad-core processor that really gets the job done? Oh, and, don’t forget LG’s beautiful custom UI that will make this phone a real pleasure to use. Please LG, bring this phone out and make the smartphone sphere just that little bit more interesting. You won’t regret it.
