Dual-SIM LG Optimus L2 launching at Kmart soon for $119

A regular tipster of ours, Alex D., has yet again brought us the goods. He’s managed to grab a snap of Kmart’s catalogue for the month, which clearly shows the Optimus L2 to be on-sale. It’s not currently on the online store, so it looks like you can’t buy it online just yet. I’ll be calling a few Kmart stores around Melbourne today to suss out if it is on-sale on the floor.

If you’re looking for a dual-SIM phone then this will do the job for you. It goes for just $119 and supports the ability to have two separate SIM cards inside the phone. That essentially allows you to use one phone for business and leisure, or is great for anyone who travels regularly.

This phone is part of LG’s L Style Series, which I have made no secret of my admiration for. I haven’t had any hands-on time with the L2, but it doesn’t have the best set of specs. However, for a dual-SIM phone that goes for $119 you can’t really complain. Check out the full specs below.

Specifications:

Operating System Gingerbread 2.3.x
Processor 800 MHz
Screen 3.2″ (240 x 320 pixels)
Camera 3.2MP Camera
Ram Unknown
Storage 1GB with an expandable micro SD card slot
Weight 110g
Battery 1500 mAh

Thanks: Alex!

Brilliant find by Alex. I am 110% going to go buy one for when I go travelling at the end of the year!! Using a local sim for internet whilst using my Aussie sim to receive texts – amazing. And on a smartphone? Maps and Facebook on the go. This excites me…

Thanks!! I am looking at going down to both my local Kmart’s in Sydney’s outer west to see if they have any one sale.

I have to say given it doesn’t have the greatest specs – It is the first ever pre-paid dual sim phone in Australia – that is its the first time any telco is offering such a phone to customers so if it goes very well, such phones might become commonly available to the market.

Just a FYI that would be an everyday priced item. If it doesn’t display a save above the price it basically means you buy it at that price at anytime. Im a manager in Kmart in Melbourne.
