Study shows that Google’s Nexus 7 ads are more effective than Apple’s new Genius ads
If you’ve been watching the Olympics or surfing the web over the last few weeks you probably would have run into Google and Apple’s latest ad campaigns. Google’s ad serves to demonstrate how its Nexus 7 can benefit you and fills you with warm, heart-felt and endearing feelings. Apple’s on the other hand shows you that their Geniuses can help you when you’re in trouble. Well, that is if you happen to be at an Apple store.
Anyhoo, an analytics company, Ace Metrix, has decided to do some research on the effectiveness of these ads. Ace Metrix scored the Google and Apple ads out of a total 950 points. Google’s Nexus 7 camping commercial has received quite a nice 662, while only one of Apple’s three ads tipped over the halfway point.
Ace Metrix VP had this to say about Google’s advertisement:
Google has taken their strong emotional appeal and married that with strong product demonstration.
I myself am in agreement with Ace Metrix’s findings and find the Apple ads to almost serve a negative purpose. Are they trying to tell me there’ll always be someone to help me or are they trying to tell me that I will need someone to help me if I get a Mac? All I can say is that my Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad have given me nothing but grief since day one.
