Google and Apple CEOs having phone conversations re patents
Well, this is quite interesting. Reuters has reported that ‘people familiar with the matter’ have stated that Google CEO, Larry Page, and Apple CEO, Tim Cook, have been having phone conversations to settle the patent disputes. There was one last week, a scheduled on for today (that got cancelled) and another scheduled for next week apparently.
While we have no idea what the talks could be about right now, it is quite clear that it is about current patent disputes. Apple has a lot of hang-ups about Android, dating back to Steve Jobs desire to go “thermonuclear war” on Android and “destroy” it. Well, let’s hope that Tim Cook is a bit more open-minded to our little green buddy and him and Larry can have a nice chat about the future.
After the gruelling result in the Apple vs Samsung case of last week (you know, where Samsung was ordered to pay Apple $1.05 billion) things must be quite heated between the two. Google is currently pressing charges against Apple behind the cloak of its somewhat recently purchased Motorola, which could end up in most iProducts being banned from the States. Things are getting more and more real every day and two of the biggest tech companies in the world may soon be at knive’s distance from one another.
Do you think Google and Apple can come to a fair conclusion with CEO phone conversations?
