Optus Samsung Galaxy Note to receive ICS soon

OptusNoteICS

Just as Vodafone broke news that the Galaxy Note would soon be receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Optus have had the same information hidden away for some time now. It really is a shame how hard Optus make it to find their software update page.

What’s interesting about Optus’ updates is that the telco themselves are incredibly quiet on the update front. We don’t know when the update will be coming and neither do they it seems. The Galaxy Note is on the same status as the Motorola RAZR, however, the RAZR’s update started rolling out this week.

4.0 – Optus Approved – Awaiting Manufacturer

Optus, Vodafone. On your marks, get set, go! The race is on. The first telco to get the update out will win the hearts of many Note fans around, the other, to dwell in their own misery. Oh wait, at least they beat Telstra.

So, who knows? Perhaps there are some lucky Galaxy Note owners out there who are already receiving the update and perhaps the update is about to hit all your phones. If you get the update be sure to let us know below in the comments or via our social networks.

Its also incredibly out of date, for instance…
Galaxy Nexus (I9250) 4.0.2 Manufacturer to confirm

Optus just have no idea really. Makes me think the people running the website don’t even know when the update is coming?

Got it via Kies last night (9 Aug). No probs, running well, didn’t even need to reinstall programs or settings afterwards. Very happy so far.
