Humble Bundle 3 out now for Android
The Humble Bundle is back for a third time with 4 (or 5 if you pay over the average) great games on offer.
If you don’t know what the Humble Bundle is it’s a collection of indie games you can buy at any price you like – from 1c to $infinity. There are 4 games up for grabs in the ‘any price’ category but pay over the average price people are paying for the bundle (currently $6) and you’ll get an extra game thrown in. Not only that but all the games include a free digital soundtrack and desktop versions for PC, Mac and Linux – including Steam integration. Furthermore it’s not just the developers that benefit you can also add in some extra coin for 1 of 2 charities, or both. It’s your choice!

The games on offer this round are:
Fieldrunners – A well known stalwart of the tower defence genre.
Bit.Trip Beat – A crazy mix up of breakout and rhythm games.
SpaceChem – A challenging puzzle game based around mixing chemicals.
Uplink- An old school “hacking” simulator (NOTE: this game has a addendum notifying that its just for tablets, I havent tried it on other devices to see what happens, so take note.)
And for those that pay over the average:
Spirit – is a beautiful looking game that charges the player with guiding the spirits of fallen leaves to their final destination in a sort of lemmings style game.
The official Humble Bundle page has more info and video trailers for all the games mentioned above plus stats on the current status of the bundle. This includes charts of who’s paying what, from what platform and of course it’s the place where you buy the bundle. You can do this via PayPal, Amazon of Google Wallet (if you have it that is).
The Humble Bundle runs until the 29th of August, so you’ve got some time to decide. But, for the cost of ‘anything you decide’ with the added bonus of charity karma it’s hard to not jump on board.
Head on over to the official site and take a look.
Some final notes on the bundle:
- They usually add some more games about half way through, which early buyers automatically get, but if your undecided check back then.
- Unfortunately the Play store doesn’t have any functionality for bundle owners, so you will have to download the APKs and install manually, dont worry HumbleBundle have guides and help ;)
- For this new Bundle HumbleBundle are beta testing an app (check their support page for details) that allows you to manage your bundle games and get notifications of updates to them otherwise updates are posted to your HumbleBundle Account page.
Update: I mentioned above that one of the games, Uplink, notes that its for tablets only. It turns out that another game in the line up, Spacechem, is also for tablets only. Uplink mentions using a 7inch or larger tablet and Spacechem a 5inch or larger tablet. However these are just guidelines for ‘best experience’ and both games open and play just fine on my Galaxy Nexus. So, keep in mind those two games are best on tablet but dont let it stop you buying the bundle and dont forget all the games are DRM free! So, they can be installed on as many devices as you like. Borrow a tablet and get playing!
