You can now search Google from your Android or iOS device by hand-writing

This is something really quite cool. Google have today updated Google Search on mobiles to allow you to search via handwriting!

To enable the feature, just visit google.com from your mobile web browser. Visit the search settings tab and enable ‘Handwriting’ – boom, presto – you’re done.

Handwriting allows you to simply write anywhere on the page and it will automatically be placed into the search field. It seems pretty useful for when you’re spelling out long or strange names that your keyboard’s auto-correct would generally change. Or, if you’re just trying to show your friends how awesome Google really is.

If you can’t fit all the writing in, Google will automatically predict what you were going to say – pretty cool aye.

Check out the video below for a demonstration of Google Handwriting Search in action.

Pretty cool but I did notice that Chrome on ICS 4.0.4 Galaxy Nexus would crash whenever I drew a large letter or a long continuous stroke.
