Android 4.1 Jelly Bean rolling out to HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus

jb-field

For most of the Aussies reading this article, don’t get too excited just yet. This update is for the international variant of the Galaxy Nexus. For anyone who has bought their phone through grey import or managed to get onto an international version of the GNex then today is your lucky day. That includes myself!

The Jelly Bean update will bring a whole lot of updates to your phone that we outlined in our announcement piece. For those of us on Australian telco phones you can expect. For those of you who can’t wait, the source code just went live yesterday so ROMs should be flooding in any second.

If you’ve got another Galaxy Nexus, a Nexus S or a Motorola Xoom you can expect the update in the coming months.

Josh did it come through for you yet, though? I have the International GSM variant and I’m about to wear out the ‘Check Now’ button.

It hasn’t come through yet unfortunately. The roll out should take a few days so don’t go too crazy if it’s not ready for you yet. I’ll keep you updated when I receive the update though.
