App Review: Battery Widget? Reborn!

Battery WIdget? Reborn!

Usually, anything extra in my notification bar is simply frustrating – but developer Tomas Hubalek has got it right. Simple, fashionable and sleek; this battery widget truly compliments the look of your phone or tablet.

‘Battery Widget? Reborn!’ is a fantastic little addition to your phone or tablet, that you will be thankful for once downloading.

Simply, it will keep notice of your remaining battery life by percentage in your notification bar, and upon dragging this bar down, it will show you how much time you have left until your phone is dead, and what the current internal temperature of your phone is.

I have seen so many Androiders using visually appalling and almost non-functional battery widgets, so this app definitely comes as a breath of fresh air! ‘Battery Widget? Reborn!’ covers all the necessary functions of a battery widget, whilst remaining subtle and aesthetically pleasing.

You may find that this app has some bugs, but not to worry – it is still in beta mode! If you do experience any problems – let the developer know so he can fix them in a timely manner.

This is a must have application for any person using an Android device!

For those who would rather a link to the play store, its

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.reborn.beta

    • Cam Charles

as apposed to the one there that says install?

      • Level380

yeah valid point….. All I seen was links to appaware.com website, but on closer inspection it does have a link to the OLD market.google.com store ;) Might be time for appaware to update the ‘widget’ hey?

        • Cam Charles

          lol cant argue with that

Sorry Level for the misunderstanding. We just prefer to use the widget from Appaware as it looks nicer and just seems more practical than a plain link (which we usually try to include earlier in the article anyway).

Just to be clear, we have no affiliation or anything with Appaware – we’re just fans of their widgets and anything that makes Android Australia more user-friendly!

        Hi Bryce,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I’m sure you guys could whip up something that looks just as great as the widget, which will pull the icon from the play store, including the number of +1 etc and a link to it.

The appaware one seems to be a bit outdated if they haven’t updated the market.google.com link to be play, plus the number of likes is only via them. So they show it as 7, while the play stores shows 541 +1

Anyhow as a aussie, all I can say is keep up the great work!

No problem – love to get feedback and keep all the readers happy!

I’ve been meaning to take a look at the play store API for a while now actually so I’ll try and get on that soon and build something just for us. It’s mainly just the convenience of the appaware one that draws us to using it. You’re right though as it definitely is outdated. I may even get in contact with them and see if they can add those recommendations you made. I have no issue linking to them as their service/application is quite good, but I’d hate to think that it interferes with users finding the link in the play store.

As another Aussie, thank you and keep reading! :)

Level 380 I’m glad to see you’re enjoying the site. :)

We take all recommendations really seriously and work our heads off to try and please everyone. As Bryce has said we’ll be looking into that as it would be great to get some deep Play Store integration.

it looks great and all but i just cant stand permanent icon on that side of my status bar lol im sure i have OCD or something but yea, of course only system apps etc can go on the other side argh

    • Josh Sharma

I think you may have OCD :p Either way, surely it would make you happy to see it being ICS ‘themed’ also?

      • Cam Charles

lol ive diagnosed hooray :P indeed its great looking and will please alot of people i dunno for me its just that the left side of the bar is for notifications, msgs emails etc and the other side is for permanent status things, which is how its setup at a base level but they forgot to allow devs to do that :P

    • Level380

Turn off the icon then…… Under advanced options, change the notification priority to low.

        Spot on. :)
