New Nexus 7 Premium Accessories Leaked

asusftimg

I finally got my hands on a friend’s Nexus 7 last week. I’m hoping many of you have had the same privelidge, or even have one of your own – but let me tell you, this thing is beautiful. The casing is stunningly designed, but one thing I noticed are these four little Pogo Pins on the body that dont seem to fit any accessory I have seen before. For those of you who dont know, Pogo Pins are electrical contacts that sit flush with the body of a device and are used for creating a temporary electrical contact when it is docked or connected to an accessory.

Well, some interesting slides have been leaked that show us what these elusive Pogo pins are for! There is a pretty cool range of Nexus 7 accessories coming! (yay!) They include:

  1. A landscape multimedia dock that angles the device for perfect viewing and allows output of audio via 3.5mm audio jack whilst charging. The leaked slides claim it will retail for $34.95, which we can assume to be US dollars.

  2. A premium cover, made of genuine leather with glass-fiber bumpers for added protection. This one is expected to retail for $39.

  3. The neatly named ‘Travel Cover’ is similar to the leather one, but just made of an unnamed cheaper material. It is available in 6 colours and will likely be made of polyurerthane or some other hard-wearing polymer, retailing for $19.

Whilst the Play Store does already stock some pretty cool accessories for the Nexus 7, these bad-boys are for the more discerning user who appreciates a little premium quality in their life. From some of the rumour reports, we should be seeing them fairly soon, so keep your fingers crossed!
