Ice Cream Sandwich for Telstra’s HTC Sensation and Sony Ericsson Arc S around the corner

Telstra have refreshed their smartphone update page to let us know when we can expect their phones to be updated. The two Android phones which seem to be the closest to receiving the Android 4.0 ICS update are the HTC Sensation and Sony Ericsson Arc S.

Telstra has supposedly found ‘issues identified in testing’ for both phones. Telstra has said that ‘HTC is working on a resolution’ for the Sensation, while ‘[Telstra] is working with Sony to resolve’ the Arc S issues. The HTC Sensation is slated to receive the update in June and the Arc S is looking at an early June roll-out. So sit tight and let’s hope there are no more hiccups on the journey! We’ll keep you posted when the updates do arrive.

Xperia Arc S owners on Telstra, have you checked if the update to Adroid is available yet?

Since it is mid-June, it would be due or overdue by now!

I upgraded my Sony Ericsson LT18a to Andriod 4 through the proper updater and it was a disaster. All the telstra icons in the phone defaulted to some weird generic one, the phone app was very slow to load and a lot of the times when making or receiving phone calls the person on the other end could not hear me.
