Generic Samsung Galaxy Note receiving Android 4.0 ICS update

The biggest phone/phablet out there, the Galaxy Note, is now receiving the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update! That is, the generic, unbranded, international version. Several European users have been reporting that their Note’s have been receiving the update OTA and are enjoying some Ice Cream goodness! We can’t be certain if it has begun rolling out down under just yet, but it should begin in the next 1-2 days.

This update will not only include the standard Android 4.0 enhancements, but will also include Samsung’s updated TouchWiz UI overlay. This has been said to look a bit more ‘Gingerbready’ than ICS-themed, but this has become accepted with Samsung as it appeared on the Galaxy S II. The update will also include the Galaxy Note’s exclusive ‘Premium Suite,’ which provide a variety of improvement for the S Pen. This includes a new and improved S Note application, a new S Memo widget and the Premium Suite Shape Match and My Story applications.

If you’re lucky enough to have received the update let us know how it goes!

I believe the pop-up player is only a feature for the Galaxy S III. Where did you purchase your Note from?
