Galaxy Note ICS update delayed

I recently wrote about my disappointment with the delay of the ICS upgrade to Samsung’s Nexus S device. Today I once again must report to our loyal readers another delay in an ICS update. The Samsung Galaxy Note which was recently released in Australia was expected to undergo the update to Android 4.0 in the first quarter of 2012, however to the dismay of Galaxy Note users it has been pushed forward to the second quarter of the year.

Whilst the delay is inconvenient it isnt as big a deal as the delay to the Nexus S because the Galaxy Note is not a pure Android device, hence consumers will understand that the delay can be attributed to the Samsung overlay. Because the device has only been present in the Australian market for a short period, users shouldn’t be too stressed about having to wait a little longer for Ice Cream Sandwich.

 The ICS update “Premium Suite”

The update might have been postponed however Samsung are attempting to make it up to users. The Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note will feature more than just a simple update. The Galaxy Note device will run Ice Cream Sandwich with bonus features and as a result the update has been named the “Premium Suite”.

The special edition upgrade will include applications such as Formula match, Shape match and My story for enhanced S pen functionality. Perhaps the greatest feature of the special upgrade will be that it includes exclusive levels to the Angry birds Space Edition game. Seeing as though the Galaxy Note was one of the official launch partners of the Angry Birds: Space edition, the inclusion of exclusive levels in the ICS update is very suiting.

Is anyone else getting frustrated with ICS update delays?
