Android-Powered Childrens’ Toys
Remember Lego? To say the least, it was my childhood. Building a village, and smashing it to pieces. It really did give you the best of both worlds – creativity and destruction, and what else is there for a child?
Now, with this new Smartphone Generation, it seems as if toys are taking a step back for the time being and letting the console or tablet take the reins. However, I don’t see why this is the case – if anything, mobile operating systems should make toys better, not replace them!
Take the ‘Blue Drone’ for example (seen below). It may just look like your everyday standard RC racer, but it’s far more than meets the eye. It is in fact a fully Android-controlled RC racer. Now that’s awesome, and you know it!
‘Blue drone’ are really the first guys on the market to begin advertising their Android-powered device, even though it has not yet made it to the market, the device uses Bluetooth and a control available on the Google Play store. We can be 100% sure that this will not be the last Android-powered toy.
The market is going to be massive – RC car, planes, helicopters, anything you can think of… Don’t disregard electric scooters!
The point of the story: everything in the very near future will be smartphone-powered, regardless of the OS. Even Google is trying to push it, releasing API’s for Google at home, an Android-powered at-home control.
